Abstrakt: Tento článek se zaměřuje na postoje k imigrantům v Japonsku s důrazem na bělošské cizince ze západních zemí. Z hlediska významu bělošství ukazuje, jak jsou tito migranti v určitých situacích zvýhodňováni i marginalizováni zároveň, a reflektuje širší souvislosti etnicity, nativismu a japonské identity. V kontextu populačního stárnutí se navíc role migrace stává ve veřejném diskurzu stále významnější.

Abstract (EN): Japaneseness and whiteness in the 21st century. This article examines attitudes toward immigrants in Japan, with a focus on white foreigners from Western countries. From the perspective of whiteness, it demonstrates how these migrants are both privileged and marginalized in certain situations, while reflecting on broader issues of ethnicity, nativism, and Japanese identity. In the context of demographic aging, the role of migration is gaining increasing significance in public discourse.
