Abstrakt: Článek představuje tradici turistiky a vývoj turistického značení na území Česka. Přibližuje systém pěšího, lyžařského, cyklistického i bezbariérového značení a upozorňuje na jeho význam pro pohyb a orientaci v krajině. Součástí textu je také přehled nejstarších a nejznámějších turistických tras, které formovaly vztah obyvatel k české krajině.

Abstract (EN): Across the landscape by trail markers: Tourist routes and trail marking. The article presents the tradition of hiking and the development of tourist trail marking in Czechia. It describes systems of hiking, skiing, cycling and accessible trail marking and highlights their importance for movement and orientation in the landscape. The text also introduces some of the oldest and most famous tourist routes that have shaped people’s relationship with the Czech landscape.
