Abstrakt: Článek se na příkladu Česka zabývá rozdíly v trávení času mezi muži a ženami v různých fázích životního cyklu a jejich geografickými aspekty. Součástí článku je také návrh aplikace tématu do výuky geografie. Celkově ženy věnují více času domácím pracím a péči o děti, muži naopak tráví více času placenou prací a volnočasovými aktivitami. Největší změny využití času a také nejpatrnější rozdíly mezi muži a ženami jsou spojeny s obdobím, kdy má rodina malé děti. I přes změny v trávení času od roku 1960 jsou ženské aktivity nadále spojeny s domovem, zatímco muži tráví více času ve veřejném prostoru.

Abstract (EN): How Czech Women and Men Spend Their Time. What That Says about Czech Society. This article examines differences in the ways men and women in Czechia spend their time during various phases of the life cycle. It suggests the possible applications of this topic in geography instruction. Generally, women devote more time to housework and child rearing. On the contrary, men spend more time carrying out paid work and in leisure activities. The largest changes in time use and the greatest gender differences are connected to the presence of very small children in households. Despite changes in how time is spent in society since the 1960s, women’s activities continue to be more related to the home, while men tend to spend more time in public space.
